Centuries Old Music Mystery Solved

This entry was written solely as an April Fools joke for my friend Dan. Joke was on me – he never read it.
Austrian-born music historian Tobias Steiner still can’t believe his luck. A Mozart trumpet concerto, whose existence was hitherto only suspected based on a letter written by Mozart’s father, was found tucked away in a storage crate given to Steiner last month by, of all places, the Morgan Library and Museum of New York.

When Steiner opened the crate, at first he could see why the museum was ready to part with the scraps of unknown composers, but then he saw a note that only a music historian or perhaps a very knowledgeable trumpeter like Dan or Tom from Cotati would realize was of massive importance, especially if Dan or Tom were to read the note on the first of April.
